Our life is a continuous stream of events, our responses and consequences for each of them. This continuously shapes us to be the person we are today.
I have had my educational roots deeply embedded in Psychology. An alumni of Jyoti Nivas College, Bangalore, more than 19 years ago when i completed my Bachelors in Psychology. I am also an honor's student, having completed my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Indian Institute of Psychology and Research and having worked with some of the best professors in Psychology.
The framework for my work in ABA began with my first job as a tutor for an adolescent in ABA about 15 years back. I am thankful for this as it has led me to completely involve my self in B.F.Skinner's work especially Verbal Behavior. Since then, i had the chance to work in an organisation with multidisciplinary professionals. At the same time i also served as a consultant in special need school/organizations using ABA principles, and overseeing the staff and designing programs.
Over the years, i have honed my skills in this area and i was lucky that a few years back when i was searching for answers to a few questions regarding moving language from rote to generative learning, i came across the work of a Doctoral level Behavior Analyst, now my mentor, Dr. Siri Ming. Her work on Relational Frame Theory and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, both off shoots of ABA has moved me to look at language with a renewed and fresh perspective.
Currently, a lot of my practice for both neurodivergent and neurotypical clients for adults is based on ACT and RFT. I am also a member of American Psychological Association and Association for Contextual Behavior Analysis. Currently i am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)* ( Certification number: 1-21-54592) and work hands-on with clients along with my team in Domlur and Horamavu, Bengaluru.
My team equally share the values of sincerity and honesty in work. All of them have chosen this field consciously and have undergone rigorous training, both in college years and at work to become ABA therapists who are committed to clients. My team comprises of Master level individuals in Clinical Psychology and Social Work. Some of the team members have chosen to work on their certifications and are Registered Behavior Technician in Applied Behavior Analysis, making us a strong and evidence-based team.
